Summer is fast approaching, which means Washington County’s farmers’ markets and produce stands are open for business. Taste the sweet flavor of Oregon strawberries, succulent cherries and try a juicy marionberry at one the eight farmers’ markets in the area.

Not just an outdoor market, Washington County’s farmers’ markets are a fun-filled, entertainment event, complete with kid’s activities, food and more. Experience Oregon’s rich, agricultural bounty, while supportingthis important industry.

Washington County is the gateway to Oregon’s wine country, and the rich agricultural bounty doesn’t stop at wine grapes. The region’s farmers’ markets celebrate the produce, fruit and berries and wines of the Pacific Northwest. Many offer a diverse array of products, ranging from herbs and produce, to meat and baked goods. Most markets are open seasonally, from May until October; however, start dates vary from market to market. Read more

LIVESTRONG Challenge comes to Washington County, Oregon

Seven-time Tour de France champion, Lance Armstrong returns to Washington County, Oregon, later this month, when thousands of participants and volunteers descend on the Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton to participate in the 4th annual Lance Armstrong Foundation’s LIVESTRONG Challenge, June 28-29. The challenge includes a 5K Run/Walk and 10-, 40-, 70- and 100-mile bike rides. All proceeds will raise money and awareness to inspire and empower the nearly 12-million Americans living with cancer.
