Purple Cow Vineyards is a small, family-owned winery producing only 500 cases per year. The owner, winemaker and vineyard manager are all the same person which creates a seamless process from vineyard to bottle. Purple Cow is aggressive with its grape variety selection, producing wines generally regarded as too heat demanding for the geography of the northern Willamette Valley by practicing site-planning at a micro-climatic scale, sometimes switching rootstock in the middle of a row to take advantage of the change in temperature or water availability.
