
Visiting the Washington County Fair
The classic tradition of the American county fair is alive and well in Washington County, Oregon. Each summer the fairgrounds in Hillsboro transform into a combination of carnival and community event, bringing together people from all over the area as well as many tourists at the Washington County Fair.
There are dozens of rides and midway games, as well as events and competitions for a wide variety of interests. You'll be able to attend many different concerts at various venues on the grounds, and sample some of the finest cooking anywhere. There are wild west shows, livestock competitions, cooking contests, monster trucks, a truck pull, and much, much more.

Hours: Noon to midnight
Admission: Free (rides and some events require separate admission)
Unlimited carnival rides on July 29
On the opening day, you can buy a $26 wristband for one day of unlimited carnival rides as well as additional game tickets and food discounts.

Public transportation
The Blue Line of the Trimet MAX light rail system convieniently stops adjacent to the fairgrounds. Look for the Fair Complex/Hillsboro Airport MAX Station, which is about a 30-minute ride from downtown Portland.
